Blind Alley Comics has a super-secret project in the works...very hush-hush...anyway, in the tradition of Wikileaks (or Rickyleaks, in my case, haha) I'm just going to toss it out into the ether.
"Tales to Befuddle" will be an anthology comic in the tradition of the old pulp magazines, as you can see from this cover. The goal isn't to emulate or satirize the old pulps, although I do love the covers; instead, the stories within will be dazzling examples of original art and storytelling. The main criterium is that they be "befuddling" - i.e., they throw the reader for a loop, or deal with a strange subject, or push the envelope of the comics medium. I haven't put out a general call for submissions yet, as we're very new at this whole submissions thing...we're keeping it on a friendly basis for now, only people we know; once we get established and gain confidence, we might throw the gates open. I'm very excited to get started - it's new territory for Blind Alley Comics, which has before now been just myself and Joe Haines, operating in obscurity.
Here's hoping "Tales" expands our horizons. Semper Befuddlis!
